The Dixon Family Album is a one-act rock musical about Ronnie, the youngest member of a 1960s family band, 30 years after their implosion. Ronnie is currently a resident at a halfway house, under the guidance of a social worker named Kayla. Ronnie is trying to get back on his feet after a mental health crisis. He's excited for an upcoming reunion tour with his estranged siblings and drives Kayla and his housemates up the wall with rose-tinted tales from the good old days. But when he meets Kayla's introverted son Adam, Ronnie starts unpacking the trauma of his childhood to help Adam come to grips with his own difficult family life. When the reunion tour turns out to be a delusion, Adam is the only one close enough to Ronnie to help him come to terms with reality. Together they find a healthier way to mourn the idyllic family neither had and in each other find the kinship their family members couldn't provide.

The music of the show is firmly seated in decades in which the story takes place: the 60s and the 90s. The songs span flower power rock & roll, 90s grunge rock, folk revival, and 8-bit electronica.

The Dixon Family Album was originally developed at the Williamtown Theater Festival. We are currently seeking opportunities to continue writing and developing the musical.
